Sara Nagelvoort Marlin brings more than 20 years’ experience helping organizations build strong brands, develop and execute effective marketing programs, and communicate a clear, compelling, and consistent message. For each engagement, Sara puts together the right team of marketing specialists to serve a client's unique needs. Her facilitative and inclusive approach helps organizations discover and communicate their organizational strengths with confidence. As a result, organizations can maximize visibility, favor, and engagement with their audiences, dramatically increasing reach and impact.  

Sara has supported a variety of organizations around the world. She served as senior vice president of marketing and communications at Prison Fellowship, the nation’s largest outreach to prisoners, former prisoners, and their families, where she helped dramatically refresh their brand platform in a challenging post-founder era. This empowered the organization to make a critical transition from being a stagnant personality-driven niche nonprofit to a powerful and relevant national mission-driven brand.

She also served as a marketing leader at clinical technology company Medidata Solutions, helping the company navigate a dynamic era from start-up through a 2009 initial public offering and into a Wall Street “darling.” Sara has also held marketing and communications roles at IBM, Accenture, Forbes magazine, and The Children’s Defense Fund.

Sara holds a BA in English from Duke University and an MBA from the University of Michigan. She serves on the board of directors for Crossroads Prison Ministries, an international nonprofit that supports men and women in prison with correspondence-based Bible study and mentoring programs. A resident of Leesburg, Virginia, Sara finds that solutions to most of life’s challenges are inspired by the garden, where the right conditions and care can help a tiny seed become a thriving blossom with beauty and purpose.
